Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean its a LIVE GAME?

When the stream is running on Whatnot, the game is LIVE. Buy a pack, get slotted into one of the 14 available player slots. Then type in chat what you want to do...

Will I receive all the cards that come in the pack that I buy?

NO... You will USE the cards received to PLAY the game. Maybe you trade one of your DAY cards received, and 3-Silver to take a water taxi to move from your starting location of Bridgetown to the islands of St. John. There you use an ACTION card (1/7th of a day) to trade some silver for some rum. You then move to St. Martin to SELL the rum for hopefully more silver than it cost you. You then use an action to trade another player some iron ingots for some silver and a horse (or whatever).

The cards you get shipped, are the REMAINING cards after you've PLAYED the game and done whatever trades and transactions you've completed.

Ok, I've received my cards, what do I do with them now?

Great question. The answer is not certain yet. A couple of thoughts are: 1) This is a trading card game (TCG). Trade them with your friends. Sell them on Whatnot. 2) Take them to the local venue PiratesMG game. They're all 'live' and can be used. 3) Possibly store them with me and use them in a future Whatnot game-stream.

The 'store-with-me' isn't figured out yet. Stay tuned...

What else can I buy from you?

The Pirates Megagame is much more than just this one Whatnot stream. It's original intention is to be ran at conventions and local venues with 60+ people playing a LIVE IN-PERSON game. This Whatnot version is just a stepping stone to something much larger.

That being said. The Pirate Ducks game has been tested and is working well. Pre-Alpha sales of ships, maps, ducks and the like should all be available within the stream and store at Whatnot.

How many viewers and players can you have?

Whatnot allows for as many viewers as wants to watch. As for players, that's a much more difficult question.

My studio setup will currently hold 14 simultaneous hard-core PLAYERS but 'should' hold quite a number of casual or one-pack players.

Is this like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) at all?

Yes, in many ways. You have a (player) character. That character can grow, obtain stuff, trade stuff and interact with a fictional game world.

However you can't do just anything you dream up (maybe in the future). In this way its more like a board game. There are certain things you can do and only certain places you can go.
